Having a little fun for the holidays.....

I just opened the shop at hte Renaissance Galleria - it is a great mall with many fun shops run by the "best of SL magazine" and its staff. Currently at this shop all members of the "Best of SL Magazine Readers" group will receive a 50% discount when they shop at DDesigns shop ( this discount is at Renaissance Galleria mall ONLY) with their tag active - they will initially pay full price for an item, 1/2 of which willl immediately/automatically be refunded (this is the way the vendor system processes such discounts/sales).

This is a fun way to get a free outfit or product from our company - and often the easiest and most guarenteed, just follow these steps:
1. put DDesigns Main Store & Mall in your profile "picks' - you can do this by going to the "picks" tab and hitting "new" and then okay. you should now have a tab in your "picks" page for the mall!
2. come each day to collect the prize - the we MUST be in your PICKS in order for you to collect the prize.
The prizes:
prizes are a single piece or component of a DDesigns original product (or a product DDesigns authorized to sell). Come back daily to collect the pieces for each complete outfit/item! Each prize is numbered and no prize will be available two days in a row, other than that be aware you MAY get doubles.

DDesigns has 4 midnight mania boards in its main store, set with the following targets until further notice: 5, 10, 15, 20. The prizes in the midnight mania boards are automatically switched once a prize board locks/delivers a prize - there are currently some 50 prizes in the MM boards and each board selects from that pool randomly.
Each prize will have a corresonding picture loaded with it so that you may see the prize currently available for THAT given board.
prizes are distrbuted once and only if the target for the given board is reached, at which time the board "locks down"; if a target is reached and the board locks down the prize will be given out at midnight to all those who clicked the board.

DDesigns has 2 mini-mania boards - these operate somewhat differently from MIDNIGHT mania.
The target is set at a low number, currently 5 until further notice.
ONCE the target has been reached on each board (individually, they need not both have their target reached for the prizes to be given out) the boards will lock then... ONE person of ALL the people that hit the given board will receive the prize on the board...
After the prize has been given, the board will be reset and a new prize loaded - the cycle can be repeated immediately (and again and again) after the board delivers its prize.
**the mini-mania board has roughly 30 prizes to drawn from k(95% of them are DIFFERENT FROM the midnight-mania prizes!!!!)

Bidbox is the Lucky Designs auction system sweeping second life! The concept:
an item (or items) are loaded into the bidbox; a minimum starting bid is set (here at DDesigns it WILL NEVER go over 5L to start!), the length of the auction and the number of auctiosn before the board locks is set.
What you do:
bid on the item, exceeding the current bid by at least 1L, you will pay the amount immediately. Should you be OUTBID you will be refunded the complete bid that was topped.
Should you have the highest bid at the end of the auction cycle, the item will be delivered to you.
Please note DDesigns operates Bidbox as follows:
Starting bid: never higher than 5L
auction length: 8 hours
number of auctions (b4 board "sells out"): 25

hippoVEND!
So i am currently working on finishing on transfering everything in my inventory to hippoVEND... what an undertaking!
i have 122 items currently available in-world and on the second-marketplace... to switch these all over to hippoVEND vendors was way more than i thought it was going to be...
hippoVEND basically is a one-location server system from which you can make any number (and type!) of vendors they have the package and rezz them in-world at numerous locations... while only having to manage one inventory... the best feature is that you can edit/adjust the server inventory and vendors from the hippoVEND website! once i got the hang of it it started to run more smoothly...
i currently have a location at the Renaissance Galleria in world (http://slurl.com/secondlife/The%20Renaissance%20Galleria/226/225/23 ) - this is a new location and we at DDesigns are offering a 50% discount to all "the best of SL magazine Readers" group members who wear their tag while shopping.... this sale is from now until 12: 01am december 27th! Please be aware tho that you will initially pay full price for the item, after which 50% of that will be automatically refunded.... i will be sure to watch the vendors activity ot make sure this is working properly and process any neccessary refunds.

As Yet Unreleased....
I have two nearly complete outfits that will be released in the main store soon, the first is a swimsuit i call "Anysa"; like "Stella", "Anysa" is a two-piece however the styling is a little different....
Unlike "Stella"s decidely VA-VA-VOOM effect with its rings and strip accenting... "Anysa" is more conservative while still showing a littile but of sexy appeal with its open midriff and deep low cutting back. Like "Stella", "Anysa" will be available in a few different collections which will have several variations each!
The next outfit i made has a little bit of an asian influence brought up-to-date feeling to it, "Keiko" is a short skirted dress that is casual enough to wear out to a club but classy enough to wear to an important event:
"Keiko" is made with rich silk - several variations with intricate detailing that will transport you to a whole other world!

Making It Casual
At first i wanted to make dresses and only dresses.... i was enthralled by making flexi, the best flexi i could. But after wandering around the stores of so many talented creators in 2nd Life I saw that the key to success in any 2nd Life business was variety... and with a clothing designer who perfers to make formal the best way to ad variety is to make it casual.
Thats when i made "Caryn" my first casual outfit.....
"Caryn" comes in several colors and either blue or black custom DDesigns brand jeans. I love how the "unveristy blue" version of "Caryn" just pops... the detailing turned out perfectly.
After completing "Caryn" I wanted to go a little funky and created my "Lamia", "Raeyna" and "Victoria" outfits.....
All these casual outfits with the exception of "Raeyna" and "Victoria" have several variations available for purchase in the main store.
Right now my goal is to continue to make the quality formal and casual clothing i am working on as well as flesh out some of the ideas i have in my hopper... i have several male outfits planned, some to complilment current female outfits and others as their own stand alone outfits!

Up Until Now...My First Blog!
Alright so... up until now, i have stumbled a few times in bringing my label DDesigns to existence RL and unrealistic second life expectations have gotten in the way but... i think i have htingks settled now and i am revving things up and hopefully on my way to making a name for myself!
I have made a few outfits, each successively better than the last... my first was a swim suit i initially called "fancy ring bikini" but which is now called "Stella" with various "collections" available:
Next i moved on to make some dresses, which included "Amalthea", "Goth Goddess", "Jewel", "Laci", and "Marisah" ....
All these wonderful pictures were taken by my dear friend Kymber Karsin in world - she modeled my clothes and captured the essence of my efforts beautifully!
After i gained much confidence, i was able to move on and make a more elaborate formal dress which i call "Anslee":
I worked hard to make a flowing flexi skirt and a very detailed jeweled back for Anslee and after what turned out to be several hours of work I produced a very beautiful dress i love to flaunt at formal events.
